You will receive emails regarding public consultation being conducted by the NCA, including details of the NCA's public forums. Your personal information will not be disclosed for any other purpose without your consent unless authorised by law. You may opt out of any further contact from us at any stage by cancelling your account.

Lawful Purposes

You agree to use the NCA website only for lawful purposes, and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of or restrict or inhibit the use and enjoyment of the NCA website by any third party. This includes conduct which is unlawful or which may harass or cause distress or inconvenience to any person, the transmission of obscene or offensive content or disruption to the NCA website.

You must not post or transmit via the NCA website any unlawful, defamatory, obscene, offensive or scandalous material, or any material that constitutes or encourages conduct that would contravene any law.

  • reduce any obligation You owe to any Agency.

Comments on the NCA website are provided by, and are the responsibility of, the person or people who made such postings. The NCA does not endorse, support, or guarantee the truthfulness, accuracy, or reliability of any the comments posted on the NCA website or endorse any of the opinions expressed.

The NCA takes reasonable care in linking to other websites but the NCA has no direct control over the content presented in those websites or the availability of those websites.

The NCA makes no representation that the material on any linked websites does not infringe the intellectual property rights or any other rights of any person. The NCA does not authorise the reproduction of such material.

Moderation Policy and Process

The moderation process helps ensure that spam or comments that breach the terms of use are not published. Comments are published immediately, and then checked manually by a moderator.

To ensure that this experience is productive for everyone, the NCA asks you to ensure that you do not post any material that:

  • includes any language that a reasonable person would consider abusive, obscene, indecent or offensive
  • a reasonable person would consider is defamatory, abusive, harassing or hateful
  • you do not have the necessary rights, licences and consents to post
  • constitutes spam, unauthorised advertising or solicits
  • invades anyoneís privacy or impersonates anyone
  • is off-topic or is excessively long
  • encourages conduct that may or would constitute a criminal offence or give rise to civil liability, or that otherwise violates any local, state, national or international law or regulation anywhere in the world, or
  • appears to contain irrelevant or excessive links or appears to contain code.

The moderation process will deter SPAM Bots, excessive links and offensive language. Comments made will be published and manually checked by a moderator to determine if the comment should be unpublished or deleted. Comments maybe edited if there is a clear breach of terms of use. If a comment is edited, the NCA will include a reference so you can tell. If a comment isn't suitable for publication in its submitted form, the NCA will give you an opportunity to revise it to comply with our terms of use and moderation policy.

This website allows for anonymous and pseudonymous participation. User registration, with a valid email address is necessary if you would like to comment on a topic.

The information provided will only be used and/or disclosed to a person, body or other Agency;

  • as authorised by law, for example, if a law enforcement authority or court order lawfully directs us to disclose the information of a user.

Permission to disclose name and address

The NCA seeks an open and transparent consultation process. Following public consultation on the proposal, the NCA will prepare a Consultation Report which will be published on the NCA website. This report will include a summary of each submission. The NCA intends to publish the name and suburb of each person making the submission, but will not publish contact details (such as physical address, email or phone number).

If you have a concern about having your name published on the internet or if you wish to make a confidential submission, you must make this clear when submitting your comments. Say why you want your submission to be kept confidential.

The NCA will consider requests for confidentiality, but cannot make promises in advance. If you have concerns about confidentiality, please contact the NCA to discuss before making a submission.


These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory, Australia and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Australian Capital Territory.

If any of these Terms of Use are held to be invalid, unenforceable or illegal for any reason, the remaining Terms of Use will continue in full force.

These Terms of Use do not negate any Terms or Conditions that apply to your use of any other government website.

The NCA may revise these Terms and Conditions from time to time.
