Cotter Road Duplication Stage 2 - McCulloch Street to Tuggeranong Parkway
The National Capital Authority (NCA) has prepared a Consultation Report for Works Approval application WA19639 from SMEC on behalf of Roads ACT for the stage 2 duplication of the Cotter Road. The application for Stage 2 comprises duplication of the road from the Tuggeranong Parkway to McCulloch Street.
The Report was prepared in accordance with the NCA's 'Commitment to Community Engagement (August 2011)' which details how the NCA conducts consultation. The full consultation report is below. A more detailed response to technical issues raised as part of consultation undertaken by the proponent is also attached.
Purpose of Report
The purpose of the report is to provide a greater level of consistency and transparency in the NCA's decision making process. The Consultation Report outlines the submissions received and provides responses to the issues raised. Public consultation took place between 1 November 2014 and 29 November 2014.
Eight written submissions were received. The key issues raised in submissions were:
- Rationale for detailed road alignment and intersection design
- Cycling infrastructure and priority
- Ecological connections
- Noise impacts
- Encouraging public transport and cycling
- Impacts on the nearby Equestrian Park.
On 27 May 2015, works approval was granted to WA19639 for the duplication of the Cotter Road, between the Tuggeranong Parkway and McCulloch Street, and associated infrastructure.
