Section 9 Barton - Redevelopment Stage 2 (Structured Car Park and Retail)
The National Capital Authority (NCA) has prepared a Consultation Report for Works Approval application 19321 (WA19321) from Barton Residential Pty Ltd for a car park and retail development on Block 13 Section 9 Barton (corner of Macquarie and Broughton Streets) as part of Stage 2 of the Section 9 Barton Redevelopment.
The Report was prepared in accordance with the NCA's 'Commitment to Community Engagement (August 2011)' which details how the NCA conducts consultation. The full consultation report is below.
Purpose of Report
The purpose of the report is to provide a greater level of consistency and transparency in the NCA's decision making process. The Consultation Report outlines the submissions received and provides responses to any of the issues raised. Public consultation took place between 31 May 2014 and 23 June 2014.
The NCA received two submissions during the consultation period. The key issues raised in submissions were:
- Building height
- Overshadowing of neighboring properties.
On 17 October 2014, works approval was granted to WA19321 for the construction of a structured car park with ancillary retail as part of Stage 2 of the Section 9 Barton Redevelopment
