The National Capital Authority offers guided walking tours on Fridays and Saturdays, from 16 November 2018 to 19 January 2019, bookings are essential and can be made through Eventbrite.

Old Parliament House Gardens 1.5 hours
‘Roses, Tennis and Democracy’
The story of the Old Parliament House Gardens, history, and horticulture.
Actively used and loved by parliamentarians from the 1930s – 1980s as a place of relaxation from the pressures of the House, these reconstructed gardens are a reminder of the early days of the city. On this tour a National Capital Authority guide sketches the story of gardens that house over 7,500 roses, two tennis courts, cricket pitch and bowling green, restored in 2004 for all to enjoy.

Self-guided walking tours
In about an hour you can walk along Anzac Parade and learn about the symbolism of the memorials, take in Commonwealth and Reconciliation Places as you follow the Lakeside Walk, or start from the National Capital Exhibition and see the sights on the way to historic Blundells Cottage.
