Things to think about when planning your event at this specific venue:
Vehicle access (including horse & carriage) to Aspen Island is not permitted.
Capacity restraints – Aspen Island has a maximum capacity of 500 People. It is recommended that events with 500 participants have at minimum First Aid supplied on the Island.
Limited parking within close proximity to the Island.
Egress and ingress considerations including Emergency response planning due to the limitation of the one access point on the pedestrian bridge.
Adequate provision for wet weather and other contingencies
Carillon Recitals are played Wednesdays and Sundays between 12:30 and 1:20pm. These will not be cancelled for events.

The Westminster Chimes strike every 15 minutes between 7:00am and 10:00pm
Aspen Island has a capacity of 500 people.
The capacity at Aspen Island needs to be governed in context of only one access on and off via a 3 metre wide bridge which is approximately 65 metres long. Any emergency egress would be significantly slowed due to congestion at the entrance to the bridge. In order to maintain a positive, safe pedestrian flow rate and enable safe egress with consideration of emergency services needing to attend by foot, it is a requirement that any event on Aspen Island does not exceed 500 people. Specific and detailed Risk Assessments and Emergency Planning may be requested.
Each box has: 6x10A single phase power / 1x32A 3 phase
Public Toilets are located across the footbridge in Kings Park.
Events with a projected capacity over 200 persons should consider additional toilet facilities consistent with the Australian Capital Territory Health Guidelines.
