This Anzac Day Saturday 25 April, Aspen Island will again host a commemorative concert in remembrance of the service and sacrifice of the Anzacs.
The music prepared includes specially written songs for the night as well as popular songs from the First World War. The evening includes performances by a team of highly skilled carillonists and this year will be accompanied by the Canberra Gay and Lesbian Qwire.
Three readings have been selected to enrich the music and to voice the soldiers experiences. The readings will be presented by the British High Commissioner HE Mrs Menna Frances Rawling, First Secretary of the New Zealand High Commission Mr David Dewar and the Chief Executive of the National Capital Authority, Mr Malcolm Snow.
Those interested in attending the event should bring along blankets and chairs and be prepared for the weather conditions.
The National Carillon was a gift from the British People to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Nations Capital, the Carillon is a concert instrument made up of 55 bells and is one of only three carillons in Australia.
