Media Statement: Commonwealth Ave Bridge Surveying Works

The National Capital Authority wishes to advise that during the week commencing Monday 1 July 2019, surveyors will be present on Commonwealth Avenue Bridge.

Surveyors will be conducting works to inform the development of the detailed business case to undertake work to upgrade the two existing spans of the Commonwealth Avenue Bridge. The upgrade works will strengthen the existing structures, improve access for pedestrians and cyclists and ensure the Bridge continues to function safely for the next 50 years.

Whilst surveyors are surveying the carriageways, temporary lane closures may be required. Any lane closures will occur outside peak usage between 9.30 am and 4 pm.

Surveyors will also need to conduct brief periods of work on footpaths. While the footpaths will remain open, we request footpath users exercise caution around surveyors and follow any directions.
