Kings Park and Rond Terrace Works

Update 1 October 2021

Adjustments have had to be made to the permanent closure date of Wendouree Drive.

The new date for closure is now Wednesday 13 October 2021, at which point there will be no through traffic for cars using Wendouree Drive.

Monday 13 September 2021 to December 2021:

  • Closure of a section of the Boundless car park, off Wendouree Drive, to construct a bus drop-off area (next to the National Police Memorial). 
  • Speed reductions at Wendouree Drive, near the Parkes Way underpass, for the construction of additional parking and a dedicated bus drop-off next to Blundells Cottage.
  • Pathway closure at Rond Terrace. Water edge pathway will remain open throughout the works.

Wednesday 13 October 2021 to December 2021:

  • Permanent closure of the centre section of Wendouree Drive to all through car traffic. This section will remain open for cycling with minor detours during construction. Cyclists in the area will be directed by detour signs as appropriate.

Friday 29 October 2021 to mid-November 2021

  • Section of RG Menzies Walk in Commonwealth Park will be impacted by construction works. Pedestrians, cyclists in the area will be directed by detour signs as appropriate.

Dates of the works are indicative and may be subject to change.
Works will occur Monday to Thursday from 7am to 4:30pm, Fridays from 7am to 3:30pm and Saturdays from 7am to 1pm, weather permitting. 
Lane closures and speed reductions will be in place for the duration of the works.
Pedestrians, cyclists and traffic in the area will be directed by detour signs and traffic marshals as appropriate. 
Pedestrian access under Parkes Way may be closed at times during the construction works.
