Commonwealth Place Footbridge Closure

The National Capital Authority (NCA) has closed the elevated footbridge at Commonwealth Place between east and west, effective immediately for specialist engineer assessment. The footbridge will remain closed until further notice.

Scrivener Dam maintenance

The National Capital Authority (NCA) will be undertaking scheduled maintenance works at the northern (lakeside) traffic lane and footpath on Lady Denman Drive over Scrivener Dam, this Friday 21 August 2020 between 8am - 4pm, weather permitting.

Scrivener Dam maintenance

The National Capital Authority (NCA) will be undertaking maintenance works at Lady Denman Drive over Scrivener Dam between 8:30am and 4pm on Monday 17 August. Traffic will be directed by detour signs and traffic controllers as appropriate, weather permitting. Access to the National Zoo and Aquarium can be gained via Tuggeranong Parkway.

Heavy Patching Program 2

The National Capital Authority (NCA) is currently undertaking further heavy patching and road maintenance works around the National Triangle area.
The majority of works will be carried out after hours and between the times of 7 pm to 6 am, Saturday 27 June 2020 to Friday 24 July 2020. Other than State Circle, roads affected include:
Parkes Place West
King Edward Terrace
Kings Avenue
Melbourne Avenue
Bowen Place
Weather permitting, traffic in the following area will be directed by detour signs and traffic controllers as appropriate. Pedestrians and cyclists will be redirected. No works shall be undertaken on Friday or Saturday nights.

Commonwealth Place Path Closure

National Gallery of Australia Foreshore Path Closure

The National Capital Authority (NCA) will be undertaking a public domain upgrade of the foreshore shared path that runs between the National Gallery of Australia (NGA) Sculpture Garden and Lake Burley Griffin.
7 am Thursday 18 June to October 2020 (expected)
Shared path between Bowen Place and Queen Elizabeth Terrace along Lake Burley Griffin foreshore will be closed.
A detour will be in place during works directing users around the National Gallery of Australia.
Temporary Path Closure: The shared path that runs between the NGA Sculpture Garden and lake edge will be closed for the duration of the works to ensure public safety is maintained through the construction works. Signage will be provided to direct foreshore path users around the National Gallery of Australia between Bowen Place and Queen Elizabeth Terrace.
