Temporary road closures for the 70th Anniversary of Australian Peacekeeping

Thursday 14 September will be the 70th Anniversary of Australian Peacekeeping efforts and to mark the occasion there will be a ceremony held on Anzac Parade in Canberra.

To facilitate this ceremony and the dedication of the new Australian Peacekeeping Memorial, Anzac Parade and some surrounding streets will be affected by road closures on Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 September 2017.

Wednesday 13 September 2017

There will be one lane closed in both directions along Anzac Parade from 9am to 4pm, to allow organisers to set up and undertake a full dress rehearsal.

  • Anzac Parade northbound between Constitution Avenue and Currong Street
  • Anzac Parade southbound between Blamey Crescent and Constitution Avenue

Traffic management signs will be in place, advising road users of the changes.

There will be multiple road closures from 5am to 2pm for the ceremony to mark the 70th Anniversary of Australian Peacekeeping and the dedication of the Australian Peacekeeping Memorial on Anzac Parade.

The following roads will be affected:

  • Anzac Parade northbound between Constitution Avenue and Currong Street
  • Anzac Parade southbound between Blamey Crescent and Constitution Avenue
  • Anzac Park West between Constitution Avenue and Elimatta Street
  • Anzac Park East between Constitution Avenue and Page Street

Traffic in the area will be directed by detour signs and traffic marshals. Only authorised vehicles will be permitted access.
