The National Capital Authority (NCA) would like to advise the community that there will be a substantial number of temporary road closures within the Parliamentary Zone, Lake Burley Griffin foreshore and Commonwealth Avenue vicinities this Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 April 2018 due to the Australian Running Festival.  The closures include the following:

Saturday 14 April from 4:00am-10:30am:

  • Parts of Federation Mall
  • King Edward Terrace
  • Coronation Drive
  • Parkes Place East and Parkes Place West
  • King George Terrace
  • Flynn Drive

Sunday 15 April from 4:00am-1:30pm:

  • Parkes Way
  • Kings Avenue
  • State Circle
  • Adelaide Avenue
  • Commonwealth Avenue
  • Alexandrina Drive
  • King Edward Terrace

A full list of all road closures can be found here.  To further ensure public safety within the area for these events, additional signage and marshals will be in place.

Attendees of the event should be aware that the NCA will be enforcing parking regulations for the duration of the event primarily to address public safety issues and to conserve places of cultural and heritage significance within the Parliamentary Zone including Open Space. The NCA encourages the public to park legally to avoid the risk of being issued an infringement notice. Illegal parking puts the public within these spaces, including children and cyclists using the shared paths, at risk of being injured from moving vehicles. .

There is ample parking within walking distance to the race start and finish area, as outlined here.
