Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS). The Senior Marketing and Digital Content Officer will play an integral role in supporting the roll out of this new National Triangle
brand. Supporting the Marketing activities, work will be complex in nature and involve various activities that attract visitation and
encourage visitors to connect and explore the National Triangle.
The National Capital Authority (NCA) has responsibility for the promotion of the National Triangle. Attracting visitors to celebrate
and engage with the story of the National Capital. Each year, experiences and activities are created that enhance the awareness of
the National Capital and its national significance, creating a safe precinct that welcomes visitors. The National Triangle is
supported by active marketing campaigns, social media and digital communications that engage the Australian public.
The NCA is currently going through a period of transformation, with a focus on building a precinct brand that will attract visitors to
the National Triangle. A major focus is the development a new National Triangle brand identity, campaign and website.
Working under limited direction, duties may include:
1. Develop high quality and creative advertising campaign briefs and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to deliver
successful tourism campaigns promoting the National Triangle as a premier tourism precinct.
2. Research, plan, develop and implement innovate digital campaigns using video and photography content for social media,
website and other National Triangle digital platforms used at the NCA, with a focus on developing content that creates
awareness of National Triangle campaigns and the growth of the National Triangle social media channels.
3. Manage and monitor the day-to-day National Triangle social media platforms, ensuring regular posting that promotes the
precinct’s tourism offerings, activities and events with high attention to detail. Liaise with audience to increase engagement
and satisfaction.
4. Keep up to date with industry trends, and lead discussions around digital improvements that will enable the National Triangle
to improve its communication and engagement with audiences.
5. Regularly review completed campaigns and digital content produced, by analysing performance metrics, and propose process
improvements to refine content and consistently captivate audience.
6. Assist in the financial management of the marketing budget. Oversee expenditure and ensure campaigns are managed within
the budget.
7. Responsible for the preparation and presentation of reports on marketing campaigns and performance to management with
support from the Manager, Marketing.
8. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders such as content creators, social media networks and other government agencies
to develop professional networks and represent the NCA at relevant meetings.
9. Undertake procurement activities and manage contracts for the Marketing Team, ensuring effective risk-mitigation
10. Provide administrative assistance on long-term projects and objectives under the direction of the Manager, Marketing.
11. Participate as a constructive member of the National Capital Authority and provide reasonable support with Branch functions
as required.
