In October 2020, staff voted in favor of a section 24 determination rather than EA negotiations. As a result, with the endorsement of staff, the Chief Executive Officer, with the approval of the APS Commissioner, made a section 24(1) determination under the Public Service Act 1999 (Act).

The majority of the NCA's employees work in the Treasury Building, King Edward Terrace, Parkes, ACT. The NCA also operates the National Capital Exhibition at Regatta Point and Blundells Cottage located in Kings Park, Wendouree Drive on the northern shore of Lake Burley Griffin.
