On 20 June 2001, Australia's Senate agreed to an order which requires each Non-corporate Commonwealth Entity to publish aspects of its contracts with a value of $100,000 or more on its Internet homepage. The Senate subsequently amended its order on 27 September 2001, in June 2003 and again on 1 March 2007. The Government has agreed in principle to comply with the spirit of the Senate order.
Pursuant to the Senate Order on departmental and agency contracts the list that is available on AusTender sets out contracts entered into by the National Capital Authority which provide for a consideration to the value of $100 000 or more and which:
Most of the contracts listed contain confidentiality provisions of a general nature that are designed to protect the confidential information of the parties that may be obtained or generated in carrying out the contract.
