Culture and creativity collide once again as Enlighten Festival returns to the National Triangle from Friday 28 February – Monday 10 March.
See Canberra’s iconic buildings in a dazzling new light during Enlighten Illuminations with stunning architectural projections showcasing culture and storytelling on Australian Parliament House, National Library of Australia, National Gallery of Australia, Questacon, National Portrait Gallery and the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House.
The National Carillon, John Gorton Building and the Treasury Building will also be glowing in a burst of festival colours.
Against the backdrop of the festivals’ stunning illuminations, two lively food hubs will come alive every night, offering an array of delights - from international flavours to indulgent desserts.
With a packed program, experience everything from stunning illuminated, installations including interactive architectural forms, cosmic projection sculptures, calming low-sensory dreamscapes, emotional sculptural works made from discarded furniture, and vibrant fibre optic displays.
Enlighten: Beyond takes the sense of excitement and discovery of the Enlighten Festival in the National Triangle and entices audiences to explore the wealth of experiences on offer all over Canberra during the Festival period. The program offers audiences surprising and entertaining experiences from Canberra’s arts organisations, institutions and business outside the National Triangle.
From artist talks to degustation dinners at Australian Parliament House, Brickman at Questacon, karaoke at MOAD and sensory spaces at the National Portrait Gallery – there is something for everyone to discover at the National Cultural institutions Enlighten Nightshift programs.
Or grab your popcorn and your friends for a night to remember at Lights! Canberra! Action! on Friday 7 March or Symphony in the Park with feature artist, The Bamboos in concert with the Canberra Symphony Orchestra on Sunday 9 March at Commonwealth Park.
