Lane Closure - Commonwealth Avenue Bridge - Civil works
Details
Sections of Commonwealth Avenue (between Albert Street and Coronation Drive) and the whole of Commonwealth Avenue Bridge will be reduced to two lanes in both directions until mid-December 2025, with additional lane closures in off-peak hours as required to support preliminary works for the Commonwealth Avenue Bridge Renewal Project.
Access will be maintained for shared path users at all times and road users are encouraged to allow extra travel time.
Please follow all traffic controllers and signs in the area.

Thursday 13 November 2025 - mid-December 2025 (weather permitting)
Time:
Commonwealth Avenue/Bridge:
- Right lanes (closest to the median) in both directions will be closed 24/7.
- Northbound middle lane will be closed as required between the hours of 9:30am and 4:00pm.
- Southbound middle lane will be closed as required between the hours of 10:00am and 4:30pm.
Flynn Drive westbound
- One lane will be closed between the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm daily as required.
Location:
- Lane closures on Commonwealth Avenue/Bridge in both directions will be between Albert Street and Coronation Drive.
- Flynn Drive between the Commonwealth Avenue on and off ramps. Access to both ramps will be maintained.
Traffic in the area will be directed by lane closure signs and traffic marshals as required.
