Celebrate National Reconciliation Week in Canberra’s National Triangle with a program of events that inspire reflection, connection and understanding.
Throughout the week, deepen your understanding with daily guided tours of Reconciliation Place throughout Reconciliation Week, with extra tours available on Reconciliation Day. These tours explore the significance of the site’s monuments and artworks, offering insight into Australia’s history and the voices that shape its future.
On Monday 1 June, Reconciliation Day invites the community to gather at John Dunmore Lang Place for a shared experience of learning and acknowledgement. From 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, this free, family-friendly event features music, dance, storytelling, workshops and market stalls celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
The program includes a Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony, cultural performances, community addresses and interactive activities, including language and weaving workshops. Visitors can engage with First Nations cultures and reflect on the ongoing journey toward reconciliation.
Join us in the National Triangle this Reconciliation Week to reflect, learn and take part in building stronger relationships based on respect and recognition.
