The following formal submission have been made public
Submitter: John MadellyRaising of London Circuit
I draw you attention to the ACT governments Environment, Planning & Sustainable Development Directorate, "City Hill is entered into the Register of the National Estate and the ACT Heritage Places. It is also listed by the National Trust of Australia ( ACT )."
Ref. Grey J ( 1999) The Historical & Cultural Background of Selected Urban Parks in Canberra. In part states " As the dark green trees have grown they have tended to increase the perceived height of the hill and emphasise its important role as a landmark in the National Capital ".
I am against the proposed infill at Capital Hill, I believe that it infringes all of the above and merits investigation by way of a National enquiry.
As the National Capital Authority is a Federal body, does the proposed work require the approval of the Federal Government ?.
