Submitter: Tom WestlandRaising of London Circuit
I am writing to express my support for the raising of London Circuit. Currently access to the lakeside is difficult without a car, and has contributed to the general neglect of Acton waterfront. Moreover, the use of large sections of the lakefront for surface carparks -- which has been necessary due to the lack of pedestrian links from the city -- is a disgrace to the Griffin legacy. Raising London Circuit will allow Canberrans without cars easier access to the lake and will rectify some of the major design mistakes of the past, including the decision to allow Parkes Way to cut the city off from the lake.
