Sunday Works
The "Light Rail to Woden Construction Update" for December 2021 to mid-January 2022 states " To undertake these works safely, Sunday works will be required until late January......we anticipate some noisy works......" The working hours are listed as 7.00 am to 3.00 pm.
It is not acceptable for noisy works at 7 am on a Sunday (indeed anytime before 9 am on any day of the weekend), especially given that the works are to finish at 3 pm. Why do the works need to start at 7 am? Why do I need to have my sleep disturbed? The works could easily take place from 9 am to 5 pm. The ACT government needs to prioritise the interests of the residents that will be affected rather than those of the construction industry. Indeed, the "Construction Update" makes it sound like these work hours have already been decided, before the close of feedback.
