Raising London Circuit to create an intersection is just plain silly.
The clover leafs at Parkes Way and at London Circuit perform a valuable role in distributing motor traffic.
The earthworks required to raise London Circuit would be enormous. And query the stability of the ground after that much infill.
The traffic disruption during construction would be significant.
The traffic disruption, even after completion, would be significant because the banked up traffic on Commonwealth Avenue would block vehicles seeking to exit west and east on to Parkes Way.
There are two better alternatives:
The first is simply to run a tram route on the present grass around City Hill then south towards the Lake.
The second, if the route goes along London Circuit, is to simply use the existing ramp which is currently an exit ramp from Commonwealth Avenue to London Circuit.
