THE Australian Government is pleased to announce two great Australia Day events for the Nation’s Capital on 26 January 2021.

The National Capital Authority and National Australia Day Council in association with Events ACT have prepared a range of activities to respect, reflect and celebrate Australia Day 2021 in Commonwealth Park and along Lake Burley Griffin.

“We are mindful of the challenging times we continue to face but with COVID-19 health precautions at the forefront we plan to celebrate Australia Day by holding an exciting series of outdoor events that will disperse people across the National Triangle.”

“Local and interstate artists and festival experiences will be spread over various locations throughout the day, as well as the star-studded line up of artists for the Australia Day concert at Stage 88 in Commonwealth Park. The program will cater to a variety of audiences in a safe and measured way,” said Assistant Minister for Regional Development and Territories, the Hon. Nola Marino.

“The ACT Government is pleased to support the National Capital Authority and National Australia Day Council with a re-imagined Australia Day event. The modified event will ensure Canberrans have a COVID-Safe acknowledgement of Australia Day”, said ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr.

“The National Australia Day Council is delighted to be working with the National Capital Authority and Events ACT to deliver an Australia Day that encourages the Canberra community to come together and reflect, respect and celebrate”,  Karlie Brand, CEO, National Australia Day Council.
