The National Capital Authority (NCA) has received two works approval applications for parkland landscape works at Acton Waterfront.
Stage 1A (WA103305)
Relates to temporary landscape measures (for approximately 24 months to allow further fill settlement) before permanent landscape works (Stage 1B) is built. The proposed temporary landscape includes a mixture of dryland grassing and native meadow plantings. This proposal will include a facility for food and beverages, nature play opportunities, signposted trails and temporary shade structures.
Stage 1B (WA103271)
Relates to permanent parkland landscape works as part of Acton Waterfront project. Stage 1B includes two pavilions with a café and amenities, soft landscaping including new tree planting, promenade works, water play activities and opportunities for public art.
The City Renewal Authority intend to undertake enabling works, such as storm water re-alignment and placement of additional fill (which may include a temporary access track off Lawson Crescent), while the parkland landscape works are under consideration by the NCA.
